NPP Places Nine Chairs Before 50 Aspirants and Starts Music

ACCRA — The New Patriotic Party has arranged nine plastic chairs at its headquarters after 50 aspirants collected forms to contest nine national positions. Party officials said the internal election will now proceed as a carefully supervised game of musical chairs, with unity songs playing while candidates circle the available furniture and assure one another that competition is healthy.

The National Vice-Chairperson round will require special crowd control, as 13 aspirants are pursuing a single chair. National Organiser has eight contestants, while five people are circling the chairperson’s seat. The elections committee warned that merely collecting a form does not reserve furniture, and anyone sitting before filing, vetting and appeals are completed will be lifted politely by security.

When the music stops, nine successful candidates will be declared national officers. The remaining 41 will immediately become grassroots, campaign coordinators, concerned elders and people who insist the music ended unfairly. Officials have placed extra chairs outside for post-election press conferences, where every unsuccessful aspirant will explain that the party must remain united under their separate leadership.

This is satire. The source story is real; the conclusions have been faithfully misinterpreted.
